Parents Teacher Meeting


Introduction

The BS 4 Years Program was introduced in Govt. M.A.O College, Lahore (Public Sector College) in the year 2010.

Vision

Prof. Zafar Jamal, Principal Govt. M.A.O College, Lahore directed the Coordinator Office of BS 4 Years Program to organize a Parent Teacher Meeting (PTM) in the college on 11th January, 2017 which is the 1st ever effort by any public sector college under BS 4 Years Program.

Objective

The main objective of holding this meeting was to involve the stake holders; parents, students, teachers and the administration to share information and performances of students based upon the results and the attendance data with the parents and acquire their opinions about their wards for the improvement in the existing system.

Mission

  • A meeting between the offices of Coordinator BS 4 Year Program and Controller Examination was held to prepare the essential data (1.Results of MID semesters and Transcripts of Final 2. Attendance data) and it was finalized that the existing 3 semesters 1st, 5th & 7th student & Parents will be invited to attend the PTM.

  • The Convener of the PTM Mr. Abdul Majeed Malik, Vice Principal Govt. M.A.O College Lahore was apprised about the working of the offices involved in organizing the PTM.

  • The allocated tasks were completed with concerted efforts made by the staff of the Controller Examination and Coordinator Office in collaboration with the CTI’s of Mathematics and IT departments.

  • The venue for the meeting was the Post Graduate Block. 5 specious rooms were identified as Meeting Areas wherein we adjusted 2 disciplines each in 1 room with seating facilities.

  • A team of facilitators comprising of students of BBA 8th semester was evolved to inculcate the managerial skills by assigning them various tasks before, during and after the PTM.

  • The faculty of ten Major disciplines were invited to attend the meeting one day before the PTM and after a briefing conducted by the Coordinator BS 4 Years Program, the Files and data along with SOP’s were handed over to ten disciplines for streamlining the process of PTM in a befitting manner.

  • 7. A front desk was established at the entry point in the college for registering the parents. Another area marked as “Facilitation Area” was established at the entry point of the Post Graduate Block for helping the parents and students.

  • 8. We deployed a person with camera to take photographs covering all aspects of the PTM.

Outcome of Meeting

  • A comprehensive data is attached indicating the total strength of students, total numbers of Parents attended meeting along with the percentage (Annexed).

  • It was observed that the parents and the students enthusiastically participated in the PTM and they appreciated the efforts by the college administration in this regard.

    1. a. They were pleased to convey their feelings about the peaceful atmosphere prevailed in the college.
    2. The parents were of the opinion that “After visiting the college their sense of security was improved and they felt better about the future of their wards”.
